The Well Journey offers both predeveloped coursework as well as custom trainings in the area of well-being, stress management, positive organization, creativity, and using instruments such as Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, StrengthsFinder, and VIA Character Strengths. All training and courses is built focused on experiential and adult learning theory. In other words, our classes are engaging, active, and fun, encouraging participants to embody the learning instead of passively sitting and listening.


Getting a Handle on Stress

A one-day course focused on educating participants about stress, building awareness, and teaching interventions.

Course objectives:
  • Educate participants on the biology of stress.
  • Introduce participants to techniques for managing stress levels.
  • Become familiar with long-term effects of stress and evaluate self.
  • Build awareness around effects of stress on their general health and well-being.
  • Become aware of learn how to determine the stress culture within their team and/or organization.

  • Desired course outcomes:
  • Participants will have more awareness around their present stress state
  • Participants will learn skills for managing stress and interrupting the stress cycle
  • Participants will explore the biology of stress

    Getting Unstuck

    A half-day course inviting participants to bring a problem or issue with which they are stuck. This course explores ways to reverse the stuckness and move into action.

    Course objectives:

    “You cannot solve a problem from the same consciousness that created it. You must learn to see the world anew.” ―- Albert Einstein

  • Help shift participants from analytical and logic (left brain) to creativity, possibilities, and expansiveness (right brain)
  • Engage in replicatable activities to shift awareness
  • Explore challenging situations post shifting exercises
  • Give permission to play in order to move from stuck energy
  • For a team taking the course together, provide time to explore sticky issues following shifting exercises

  • Able to see a challenge in a different way
  • Aware of using more creativity and free thinking
  • With tools to share with teammates

    Building on What Works

    This course encourages participants, teams, and organizations to explore the things working in their organizations and then building upon the successes. Using StrengthsFinder and Appreciative Inquiry-type thinking, participants will feel uplifted through exploring what they do best and how they can bring that into the work they are doing.

    Course objectives:
  • Explore individual strengths and ways they can build upon those strengths.
  • Determine leadership style based upon strengths.
  • For team participants, explore team strengths.
  • Discuss current team best practices, i.e. what is working within unit.
  • Explore congruence of individual strengths and team needs.
  • Begin planning for adding to best practices through strengths-based development.
  • Provide an overview of strengths and appreciative inquiry theory and framework.

  • An understanding of Strengths theory
  • Knowing of the participant’s top five Strength themes
  • Tools for bringing positivity into the workplace
  • An insight into team strengths
  • Ideas for how to build on what is working in the workplace using strengths, values, and alignment

    Myers-Briggs Type Indicator

    The MBTI is a gold standard for workplace instruments. Each participant learns his or his four-letter type reveals preferences for extraversion or introversion; data gathering and decision making; and how they structure themselves. An excellent tool for teams, teams also have the opportunity to learn their “team type” as well as how they can best work together. This is an excellent tool for understanding self and others.

    StrengthsFinder

    The Clifton StrengthsFinder, a Gallup Organization tool, provides participants with their top five talents and through the training, explores ways to develop those talents into strengths. A very powerful, positive tool, this instrument focuses on what is right about an individual and provides a segue into understanding leadership types. This is an excellent tool for celebrating self and team.

    VIA Character Strengths

    VIA Character Strengths is a fabulous, positive tool for working with values. The instrument focuses on 24 positive character values or strengths and the participant receives all 24 ranked ordered. This training focuses on alignment with values, goals, and organizational needs and focus.
